Research streams

QCMHR supports eleven research streams grounded in four key pillars: basic neuroscience, epidemiology and risk factors, clinical trials and interventions, and health services research.

Within these pillars, our teams bring deep expertise across a wide range of areas, including military and veteran mental health, forensic populations, children and youth, neurobiology, clinical trials, physical comorbidities, evaluation and service planning, burden of disease and risk factors, First Nations mental health, health economics, outcome measures, and alcohol and substance use.

Please click on the links below to learn more about research and projects under each of our streams.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

The Queensland Centre for Mental Health Research (QCMHR) acknowledges the Jagera, Yuggera, Ugarapul and Turrbal people as the Traditional Owners of the land on which QCMHR operates and their continuing connections to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to their Elders, past and present and stand together with all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

RECOGNITION OF LIVED EXPERIENCE

We acknowledge people in our communities with lived experience of mental health, drug and alcohol concerns and those who care for them. We respect and value their generous contributions to our research.
