New research led by the Queensland Brain Institute’s Professor John McGrath has found that found that healthy people who have hallucinations or delusions are more likely to experience mood and anxiety disorders at a later date. The study also finds a link between common conditions, including depression and anxiety, and a higher risk of later having psychotic experiences (hallucinations or delusions).
